abri Sisters have lit up New York’s Times Square as Spotify’s EQUAL Pakistan Ambassadors for Q2 2026. Comprising Sanam and Anamta Sabri, the sisters are part of one of Pakistan’s most celebrated musical legacies, but they have also worked to establish an identity of their own. As nieces of the late Amjad Sabri and descendants of the legendary Sabri Brothers, they carry a rich qawwali tradition while performing in a space that has historically been dominated by men. They first gained attention in 2017 with a Persian-Punjabi manqabat dedicated to their late uncle. Since then, their catalogue has continued to grow with songs such as the hit OST ‘Meri Zindagi Hai Tu’ with Asim Azhar and the viral hit ‘Maghron La’ alongside Rozeo from Coke Studio 15.

Among their releases, ‘Meri Zindagi Hai Tu’ remains their biggest commercial success.

The track spent more than 30 weeks on Spotify’s Top 50 Pakistan chart and was featured on playlists including EQUAL, Pakka Hit Hai and Hot Hits Pakistan.

According to Spotify, the duo has built a growing international following, with the United States, the United Kingdom and Bangla-desh among their strongest markets. Almost half of their listeners are between 18 and 24 years old, highlighting the growing appeal of their blend of qawwali and Sufi music among younger listeners.

Speaking about the recognition, the Sabri Sisters said, “A platform like EQUAL Pakistan from Spotify is important as it gives recognition to Pakistani artists on a global scale. There was always a wish to be part of this prestigious list of musicians who have been selected as EQUAL Ambassadors in the past and now it feels so surreal and exciting, especially knowing that legends like Abida Parveen and Sanam Marvi have represented Pakistan as well.”

Rutaba Yaqub, Artists & Label Partnerships Manager at Spotify for Pakistan and UAE, said the Sabri Sisters’ selection reflects the programme’s commitment to showcasing the diversity that EQUAL Pakistan aims to celebrate.

“As some of the few women making their mark in the traditionally male-dominated qawwali space, the Sabri Sisters are helping expand the boundaries of the genre while honouring its rich heritage,” she said.
