Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah has said the provincial government, in collaboration with Indus Hospital, has established and upgraded 278 rabies prevention and treatment units across the province, along with referral centres and telemedicine services.
Addressing a ceremony at Indus Hospital, he said the government had been working with the hospital to strengthen treatment facilities and address gaps in the management of rabies cases.
He said referral centres had been activated to facilitate patient care, while telemedicine services had been introduced to improve access to specialist advice.
The chief secretary stressed the need for sustained efforts to address the stray-dog problem and increase public awareness about the risks of rabies and the importance of seeking immediate medical treatment after dog bites.
