LAHORE : Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Tahir Farooq visited LDA City and reviewed the progress of land acquisition and development work, following The News report about alleged irregularities in the land acquisition process.
The DG was briefed by the Director LDA City, Director Engineering and Director Land Acquisition Collector (LAC) about the ongoing process.
The land acquisition process in Mouza Toor Warraich was reported to be progressing rapidly. The DG reviewed the acquired land and ongoing development work and directed officials to further accelerate the acquisition process.
He directed officials to ensure transparency in land acquisition and payment matters, warning that strict action would be taken on any complaint. He also ordered the immediate removal of encroachments from the acquired land and directed officials to clear the land at the earliest.
The DG further ordered the installation of LDA ownership signboards on acquired land, particularly along Canal Road and Ring Road. He directed that all land acquisition records be computerised and called for improved coordination among relevant departments.
He said representatives of all relevant departments had been deployed at the One-Window Cell to facilitate citizens. Revenue staff and LDA teams were also available there to guide and assist the public.
The DG later chaired a meeting to review development and operational matters of LDA City. He directed officials to deploy additional machinery to speed up development work and take special measures to provide housing facilities to citizens.
The meeting was also briefed on progress regarding land acquisition in Mouza Haloki. The DG directed officials to take special measures for land acquisition in other mouzas of LDA City and ensure that development work continued without interruption.
The meeting was attended by Additional DG Housing, Director LDA City, Director Engineering, Director LAC, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue, Deputy Collector Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Nishtar Town and other relevant officers.
