PESHAWAR: The Anti-Narcotics Court on Saturday sentenced two men Muhammad Hashim and Syed Najeebullah, to life imprisonment and fined them Rs1 million each for smuggling 17 kilograms of methamphetamine commonly known as ice.

In the verdict, Judge Sumbal Naseer held that the prosecution had established the charges against the accused beyond reasonable doubt through solid evidence.

The court observed that the narcotics had been concealed inside the panels of the front doors on both sides of the vehicle, indicating organised drug trafficking.

The accused were also given the benefit of Section 382-B of the Code of Criminal Procedure, with the period they had spent in custody since August 29, 2024, ordered to be counted towards their sentences.
