Islamabad : The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has requested an extension for the deployment of 3,000 Pakistan Rangers personnel to assist the federal capital’s police force in maintaining law and order, according to official documents.

Following a requisition from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad sent on October 1, the ICT administration has formally initiated steps to secure the presence of the paramilitary force along with its full command structure.

Under the proposed extension, the deployment of the Rangers contingent will remain in effect from October 5 to 15, 2026.
