I would like to highlight the growing issue of plastic pollution in Pakistan. Plastic bags, bottles and other plastic waste can be seen on roads, in parks and in many public places. This increasing pollution poses a serious threat to human health, animals and the environment. Although the government has introduced measures to reduce the use of plastic, the results have not been very encouraging in many areas. One of the main reasons is the lack of public awareness about the harmful effects of plastic pollution. Many people continue to use plastic carelessly without considering its impact on the environment. Plastic waste blocks drainage systems, causes urban flooding during the monsoon season and takes hundreds of years to decompose, making it a major environmental problem.

Awareness campaigns should be organised to educate people about the dangers of plastic pollution. I believe that schools should include lessons on the harmful effects of plastic and teach students practical ways to reduce its use. People should also be encouraged to use reusable bags and environmentally friendly products. The government should also improve waste management systems and provide more recycling facilities across the country.
