Islamabad:The Kake Educational Institution, Japan, is organising its annual Japanese Language Speech Contest at more than 13 locations worldwide, including Pakistan, says a press release.
The contest provides students learning Japanese with an opportunity to demonstrate their language skills, confidence and understanding of Japanese culture.Third Secretary at the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan, Ms Yu Okamoto, will attend the event as chief guest, underscoring the significance of the contest in promoting people-to-people and educational links between Pakistan and Japan.
The event will bring together Japanese-language students, teachers, educational representatives and guests interested in strengthening educational and cultural relations between the two countries. According to Director of Okayama University of Science (OUS), Japan, Ch Hamid Latif, Japanese-language education can provide Pakistani students with a foundation for pursuing further studies and exploring opportunities linked with Japan. Proficiency in Japanese can also help students adapt more effectively to Japanese academic and social environments.
“Language is more than a means of communication; it carries the history, traditions, values and social character of a nation,” Latif said. “Japanese is particularly known for its emphasis on politeness, respect and consideration for others, and many of its expressions reflect sensitivity towards the feelings and circumstances of other people.”
