Islamabad: In line with directives from the Federal Interior Minister and the Islamabad Inspector General of Police, efforts to provide citizens with prompt relief and ensure the timely resolution of their grievances gathered fresh momentum as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad Ali Wasim held six open courts in a single day across the capital.

The senior police official convened these open forums at the G-6, G-9, F-6, F-7, and F-8 centers, as well as at his office. A large number of citizens attended the sessions, presenting their complaints, operational concerns, and feedback on ongoing cases directly to the DIG.

During the interactions, DIG Ali Wasim listened to the public’s grievances and issued immediate instructions to the relevant police officers for swift resolution. He specifically ordered prompt legal action regarding objections and complaints raised by citizens concerning the investigation of their cases.

Reaffirming the department’s duty to the public, the DIG emphasized that protecting the dignity and legitimate rights of citizens remains the core responsibility of the police force. He assured attendees that all complaints would be handled strictly on merit and in full accordance with the law, highlighting that these open courts serve as a direct, accessible platform for the public to seek immediate redressal.

Describing a citizen’s legitimate right as their strongest recommendation, DIG Ali Wasim directed all police officers to conduct similar open courts outside their offices. He noted that expanding these forums will make senior leadership more accessible to the community, reiterating the Islamabad Police’s ongoing commitment to public service and fair policing.
