LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin reviewed measures to expand green areas and rehabilitate parks in Lahore at a meeting on Thursday.
He directed that the restoration of Nehru Park in the Walled City be taken up on a priority basis, with its historical significance also highlighted. He also ordered early completion of greenbelts and parks along railway tracks.
The minister stressed better maintenance, security and management of parks, along with the development of new green spaces and feasible revenue-generation mechanisms for their upkeep.Additional MD of PHA Rao Tasleem briefed the meeting on ongoing and proposed green-area projects.
