The use of AI is rapidly changing the way people learn, work and communicate. For Pakistan, the growing use of AI presents an opportunity to improve education and prepare students for a technology-driven employment market. However, this opportunity will be beneficial only if AI is introduced responsibly and also accompanied by positive, clear and accurate guidance.

Educational institutions should teach students how to use AI as a learning assistant rather than as a replacement for their own thinking ability. They must also be taught to verify information, recognise inaccuracies and avoid plagiarism. Equal access is another significant concern. Students in the rural areas must not be left behind due to a lack of digital resources. With good policies, trained teachers and equal access, AI can strengthen education without weakening independent learning.
