ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi paid rich tribute to Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed, recipient of Nishan-i-Haider, on his martyrdom anniversary, describing national hero as an enduring symbol of courage, valour and patriotism.
In his message, the interior minister said Major Aziz Bhatti had written an immortal chapter of bravery with his blood, setting an unparalleled example of courage and sacrifice for future generations.
Highlighting the hero’s historic military contributions, Naqvi noted the brave officer had thwarted enemy’s advance at BRB Canal during 1965 War and shattered its arrogance. “Major Aziz Bhatti sacrificed his life while defending Lahore, thereby making his name an everlasting symbol of national defence”, he remarked. Naqvi emphasised courageous sons like Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed were the pride and crown of entire nation.
The minister remarked sacrifices of martyrs who laid down their lives for defence and sanctity of motherland constituted a golden chapter in Pakistan’s history.
He said Major Aziz Bhatti’s steadfast gallantry against a numerically superior enemy would always be remembered. The sacred blood of nation’s martyrs remained true guarantee of country’s security, survival and national honour, he added. The minister asserted immortal sacrifice of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed would continue to live forever in the hearts of nation.
