PESHAWAR: The district administration on Thursday raided three houses in Sheikhabad locality and allegedly unearthed a setup involved in preparing unhealthy tea leaves using various chemicals.The action was taken on the directives of Peshawar Deputy Commissioner Sanaullah Khan.
Additional Assistant Commissioner (Faqirabad) Samia Jabeen conducted the raids after receiving information about the illegal activity. A large quantity of various chemicals, bhora and bags containing allegedly hazardous tea leaves were recovered during the operation.
The administration arrested three people present at the site and seized all the recovered material. Further legal action against those allegedly involved in the activity was initiated.According to the district administration, preliminary evidence indicated that various chemicals and other materials kept inside the houses were allegedly being used to prepare fake tea.
