ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday upheld the arrest warrants for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Sohail Afridi, Junaid Akbar, Abdul Ghani Afridi and others in the Nov 26 protest case, rejecting their requests for exemption from personal appearance.

ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra also directed police to submit the challan against the accused at the earliest and adjourned further hearing until Sept 30. The court took the decision after the accused repeatedly failed to appear during the proceedings. It rejected the exemption pleas filed on behalf of those who remained absent and continued proceedings against the chief minister and others. The case was registered at Margalla Police Station against Sohail Afridi and others.
