SWABI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader Asad Qaiser has criticized a Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) notification seeking the removal of Afghan students studying in Pakistan, demanding its immediate withdrawal and allowing the students to complete their degrees.
Asad Qaiser said the Afghan students had been admitted to Pakistani medical colleges under a government policy and had yet to complete their education. He questioned the rationale behind asking them to leave the country before completing their studies.
Terming the decision “highly absurd,” he said the government was playing with the future of the students. He said that the relations between governments could improve or deteriorate over time, but hatred created among people could persist for generations.
“Do policymakers have no compassion or moral responsibility?” he questioned while strongly condemning the PMDC notification. Asad Qaiser demanded that the notification be withdrawn immediately and that the Afghan students be allowed to complete their degrees. He said he would raise the issue in the National Assembly and added that a case against the notification had already been filed in the Peshawar High Court.
