HARIPUR: The Hattar industrialists Association (HIA) here on Wednesday threatened to go on strike with their workers if the deputy commissioner failed to abolish the recently constituted committee of officers of district administration and different govt dept tasked with visiting the industrial units of Hattar and gather data.

The HIA met with its chairman Malik Ashiq Awan in the chair while Safeer Akhtar Awan, general secretary, Abdul Qadir, chief patron and Haji Attaur Rehman, senior vice-president HIA, were prominent among others who participated in the meeting.

Reacting to the constitution of eight members committee headed by assistant commissioner Khanpur, the office bearers of HIA said that there were over 30 federal and provincial government departments that were already overseeing the implementation of labor and other industries related laws in the Hattar Industrial Estate. But the DC Haripur’s decision of constituting another committee permitting them to visit the industries with social media teams and subsequently highlighting their visits on social media platforms was an act of harassment to the industrialists.
