Islamabad: Foundation University College of Physical Therapy (FUCP), Foundation University Islamabad, celebrated World Physical Therapy Day 2026 on Tuesday under the theme ‘Role of Physiotherapy in the Prevention, Management, and Rehabilitation of Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke.’
The Dean/Principal FUCP, Prof. Dr. Furqan Ahmed Siddiqi, welcomed the distinguished audience, comprising deans, HoDs and representatives from the different departments of Foundation University Islamabad, says a press release.
The event brought together 200+ participants and was honored by the presence of Maj. Gen. (r) Qudrat Ullah HI(M), Campus Director, FUI, as chief guest. The celebrations featured an insightful expert session by Associate Prof. Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Mannan Haider Khan, Federal Member/Registrar Allied Professional Council (AHPC), an awareness walk, community outreach with Urdu health-awareness pamphlets, and an engaging student poster competition.
Students securing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions were recognized for their outstanding performance and awarded certificates of achievement in acknowledgment of their accomplishments. FUI celebrated the power of physiotherapy, prevention, awareness, and rehabilitation in building healthier communities and improving lives.
The event concluded with remarks by the Chief Guest, Maj. Gen. (r) Qudrat Ullah HI(M), who emphasized the vital role of physiotherapy in prevention and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
