A gang of more than half a dozen armed robbers allegedly blocked the Shah Faisal–Korangi flyover within the jurisdiction of the Sharafi Goth police station and continued looting commuters for more than 30 minutes during the night between Monday and Tuesday.
The robbers reportedly deprived several citizens, including two plainclothes police personnel of the Korangi Industrial Area police station, of mobile phones, cash and other valuables. Police reached the area after receiving information about the robbery spree. However, according to reports, police personnel allegedly resorted to aerial firing as they approached the flyover. Taking advantage of the situation, the robbers escaped through a nullah beneath the flyover.
