ISLAMABAD: The court of Judicial Magistrate Malik Aman has approved a three-day physical remand of journalist/Vlogger Bilal Ghauri, who was arrested in a case registered under the PECA Act.

During the hearing on Monday, Bilal Ghauri, who was arrested by the NCCIA, was produced before the court, where the investigating officer requested a 10-day physical remand. The investigating officer said the remand was required to recover the YouTube and X accounts. The defence lawyers opposed the request for physical remand. Hanzala Habib, Advocate, said that the vlog was uploaded on September 5, adding that no notice was issued and that Bilal Ghauri was arrested directly. Lawyer Imran Shafiq said that the entire programme was available on YouTube and there was nothing wrong in the video content, he said. To the judge’s query, Ghauri clarified the context of his remarks and said that such matters are dealt with through established procedures. Following the arguments, the court approved Ghauri’s three-day physical remand.
