According to the District Central police, Shaheen Force personnel of the Taimuria police station exchanged fire with the suspects near the Star Lawn in Sector 5-B/3 within the jurisdiction of the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police station.
Police said the suspects had allegedly robbed a citizen in the Hussainabad area and were trying to flee when the citizen followed them and sought assistance from the Shaheen Force personnel in the Taimuria area.
On the citizen’s identification, the police team started pursuing the suspects. The chase continued into the jurisdiction of the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police station where the police confronted the suspects.
The suspects allegedly opened fire on the police in a bid to evade arrest, prompting retaliatory fire from the law enforcers.
