LAHORE:An unidentified motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident near Allah-Ho Chowk on the service road close to Mian Plaza.The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries in the accident and his face was severely disfigured. The driver of the unidentified vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene. A traffic police team reached the spot and began collecting evidence from the scene.
Assault case registered
A man allegedly under the influence of drugs assaulted employees of a petrol station on Airport Road and threatened to kill them after pointing a rifle at them.The suspect and his accomplices also issued serious threats to the petrol station's security guard following an altercation at the site. A case was registered. CCTV footage of the alleged assault has also surfaced, showing the employees being subjected to violence. Investigators are using the CCTV footage to identify the suspects and said efforts were under way to arrest them.
296 arrested
Lahore Police Operations Wing has arrested 296 suspects during operations, according to DIG Operations Faisal Kamran. He said 15 suspects were arrested for possessing illegal weapons and displaying firearms, and 14 cases were registered against them. Police recovered 11 pistols, two guns and dozens of bullets from their possession. In operations against drug dealers, 37 suspects were arrested. Police recovered 11 kilograms and 749 grams of hashish and 3 kilograms and 930 grams of ice from them.
