ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing international police cooperation and bolstering joint initiatives against transnational crime.

The investigating agency operates through its National Central Bureau Interpol Pakistan.

Marking the United Nations International Day of Police Cooperation, the NCB Interpol Pakistan highlighted its ongoing collaboration with Interpol and partner National Central Bureaus worldwide. These joint efforts rely on real-time intelligence sharing and structured operational coordination to locate, arrest, and extradite suspects involved in serious cross-border offenses.

Demonstrating the scale of its recent operations, the agency announced the issuance of 290 Interpol notices over the past seven months. This total includes 286 Red Notices, two Blue Notices, and two Yellow Notices, all designed to assist global law enforcement agencies in identifying and apprehending fugitives in accordance with international legal standards.

The vast majority of the high-priority Red Notices targeted individuals implicated in violent crimes, with 225 issued for suspects wanted in connection with murder and attempted murder.

Additionally, 33 Red Notices targeted suspects involved in kidnapping, corruption, robbery, and cybercrime, while 19 were generated for financial fraud and deception.

The agency also secured six Red Notices for human trafficking and three for terrorism-related cases. These concerted cross-border measures have already produced significant results. Through sustained international police networking, Pakistani authorities successfully tracked down, arrested, and extradited 53 fugitives wanted for serious offenses from various countries over the seven-month period.

Reiterating its operational mandate, the NCB Interpol Pakistan emphasized that it will continue to deepen its strategic partnerships with Interpol and global law enforcement bodies to ensure that fugitives operating across international borders are systematically brought to justice.
