WANA: Fierce clashes and an exchange of fire between local fighters and a local armed group continued in the Sulaimankhel area of Zarmilan tehsil in Lower South Waziristan, turning the entire area into a battlefield.

According to residents, four members of the local fighters were killed while three to four people from the other side were reportedly injured.

However, the casualties could not be verified independently.

Residents said that intense firing confined civilians to their homes, severely disrupting movement, while it has also become difficult to shift patients to hospitals.

Affected families urged the authorities to ensure an immediate ceasefire, protect civilians and open an emergency access route.
