LAHORE:A ceremony on Defence Day was organised at Town Hall here on Sunday. The event was attended by Commissioner Nauman Yousuf, DC Ali Ejaz, and officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces. The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the national flag, and sirens were sounded in commemoration of the 6th September Defence Day. During the Defence Day ceremony, a police contingent and band presented a beautiful salute. Children from government schools also performed during the Hilal-e-Istaqlal Defence Day celebrations. A profound tribute was paid to the martyrs and their families during the ceremony.
Defence Day cutouts displayed
On the occasion of Defence Day of Pakistan, Horticulture Agency Lahore decorated major roads of the city with beautiful cutouts and special promotional material to pay tribute to the great heroes, martyrs and Ghazis who rendered invaluable services and sacrifices for the defence of the motherland.
On the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, under the supervision of PHA MD Ahmad Usman Javed beautiful cutouts reflecting national spirit and patriotism have been displayed at various important locations of the city, particularly Liberty, Mall Road, Main Boulevard Gulberg and other major roads. The cutouts feature the pictures of the Chief of Defence Forces, heads of the Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy, as well as martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the country.
