MARDAN: In an effort to enhance healthcare services and cater to the rising demand for renal care, new dialysis machines have been inaugurated at the Dialysis Unit of Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) here.

Speaking on the occasion, Hospital Director Brig (Retd) Dr Muhammad Abrar Khan emphasized that the new equipment was acquired in response to the growing number of patients. He hoped that these advanced additions would enable the Dialysis Unit to accommodate a significantly higher number of patients and provide timely, quality care to those in need.

Dr Adnan Akhtar Yousafzai said that three latest dialysis machines were procured for the hospital, bringing the facility’s total machine count to 15. Sharing details, he said that these new systems incorporate advanced modern technology capable of displaying real-time urea reduction ratio while the dialysis sessions were actively underway.

He said that with this feature, there was no more need for post-dialysis urea and creatinine laboratory investigations. Dr Adnan said that this expansion has now increased the hospital’s daily service capacity from 60 to 75 per day.

Out of the total 15 machines, he said that 10 are allocated for normal patients, while five machines are dedicated to Hepatitis B and C patients, after the addition of one new machine specifically for each group.
