LAHORE:The University of Education (UE), launched a three-day Faculty Development Programme, 'Elevating Academic Quality: Reimagining the Learning Ecosystem and Accreditation Readiness for NCEAC,' here on Friday.
The programme, being held from September 4 to 6, 2026, has brought together more than 50 faculty members from UE campuses across seven cities of Punjab, providing a collaborative platform to rethink teaching, learning, assessment and quality enhancement in line with contemporary academic standards.
Held under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Aqif Anwar Chaudhry and organised by the Centre for Lifelong Learning and Leadership (CL3), the programme goes beyond the conventional approach of preparing for accreditation. It seeks to embed quality assurance, reflective teaching, evidence-based academic practices and continuous improvement into the university's academic culture.
Addressing the inaugural session, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Aqif Anwar Chaudhry said that academic quality is not an activity undertaken merely to meet accreditation requirements; rather, it is a continuous institutional commitment to improving what and how students learn.
He observed that accreditation should be viewed as an opportunity for institutional reflection, self-assessment, improvement and accountability rather than simply a process of preparing documents. He stressed the importance of developing an academic environment in which quality becomes part of everyday teaching, learning and decision-making.
