ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Italy in Pakistan has warned students seeking study visas against submitting forged or dubious documents, especially those relating to proof of financial means.

In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the embassy said it had noticed an “unprecedented surge” in dubious and forged documents attached to study visa applications.

It advised visa applicants to strictly avoid submitting fraudulent documents, particularly those related to the means of subsistence, warning that doing so could result in immediate rejection of their application and negatively affect future visa applications.

Recently, British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott complained about agents luring asylum seekers with false promises of UK settlement and financial benefits, urging genuine visa applicants to apply through official online channels only.
