ISLAMABAD: The government has raised petrol and diesel prices for Sept. 3, with petrol increasing Rs2.29 to Rs346.16 per litre and diesel rising Rs1.11 to Rs372.03, according to a Petroleum Division notification issued Wednesday.
The increases is another upward adjustment under the government’s revised daily petroleum pricing mechanism, under which the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) revises ex-depot prices in response to movements in international oil markets.
Petrol was previously priced at Rs343.87 per litre, while diesel stood at Rs370.92. The new rates will take effect for Sept 3, the notification said.
The rise in diesel prices is particularly significant for the transport and industrial sectors, as it is widely used by heavy vehicles, agriculture, power generators and other commercial users.
