ISLAMABAD: During the 29th National Assembly session only one federal minister, an MNA, attended all the sittings, while three including two federal ministers and one minister of state did not attend any sitting.
This was reported by Free and Fair Election Network (Fafen) Analysis Report on National Assembly Attendance. According to the report, the 29th NA session which comprised eight sittings held between August 17- 28 was atttended by 65 MPs out of 332 (20 percent) attended all sittings, while 37 members (11 percent) did not attend any sitting.
According to the analysis, the fourth sitting recorded the highest attendance, with 247 MNAs present (74 per cent of the current membership). While the fifth sitting recorded the lowest attendance, with 179 MNAs present (54 per cent).
As many as 267 MNAs (80 per cent) missed at least one sitting. Among cabinet members from the National Assembly, one federal minister attended all the sittings, while three ministers — two federal ministers and one minister of state — did not attend any sitting. Of the 26 federal ministers scheduled to attend Question Hour, 12 were present on the day, while of the eight ministers required to respond to Calling Attention Notices, only four were marked present.
The prime minister attended one sitting, while the Leader of the Opposition attended seven out of eight sittings.
