KMU Academic Council okays steps to boost research

PESHAWAR: The 36th meeting of the Academic Council of Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, on Wednesday approved several measures aimed at improving academic quality, research supervision, faculty development, examination systems and quality assurance at the university.

The approval was accorded at the meeting held at the KMU’s Alexander Fleming Hall under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Rubina Nazli.Registrar Inamullah Khan Wazir, Director Academics Professor Dr Zille Huma, members of the Academic Council, deans, principals, heads of departments and student representatives attended the meeting.

The council approved several measures aimed at improving academic quality, research supervision, faculty development, examination systems and quality assurance at the university. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening postgraduate research and improving research supervision. The council also discussed enhancing faculty capacity in research methodology and scientific writing and ensuring the timely and quality completion of research projects. The meeting also considered the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into teaching, learning and research, including its use in literature reviews, data analysis, academic research and curriculum development.
