Rawalpindi: Rescue teams have recovered the body of a young girl who drowned in a drain in New Gulzar Quaid. The body of 13-year-old Areeba was found on the third day near Jhawarian on Adiala Road, while the body of a boy who jumped into a drain on City Saddar Road could not be found.
On August 31, 13-year-old Areeba, who was playing with her fellow children in the New Gulzar Quaid area, fell into rainwater and was swept away into a nearby drain. Rescue teams had been searching for her for three days through line search, boat search and bank search.
However, Areeba’s body was found on Wednesday afternoon and she was shifted to the hospital. Meanwhile, the body of a young boy who jumped into a drain on City Saddar Road could not be found. An unknown boy suddenly jumped into a drain on Wednesday morning.
According to rescue sources, the identity of the boy who drowned in the drain on City Saddar Road could not be found, however, the boy is said to be around 20 years old, and the search is underway. The search operation continued until evening.
