KARACHI: Meezan Bank has approved more than Rs31.45 billion in housing finance for 4,424 applications under the government’s Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Programme -- Ghar Ho Tu Apna, a statement said on Wednesday.
The approved applications demonstrate a significant financing pipeline that is expected to translate into further disbursements as customers complete property selection, documentation and other procedural requirements.
Against this growing pipeline, the bank has already crossed Rs4 billion in cumulative disbursements under the programme, helping around 650 families move closer to owning their homes.Momentum accelerated sharply during August, when the Sharia-compliant lender disbursed approximately Rs2.2 billion in a single month, accounting for more than half of its cumulative disbursements under the programme to date.Through its easy home solutions, the bank provides Sharia-compliant financing for the purchase and construction of residential properties.
