LAHORE: The National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) has reviewed progress on the Fertiliser Track and Trace System (FTTS), with the meeting identifying a number of outstanding data, verification and system-integration requirements that need to be addressed before the digital monitoring mechanism can be fully operationalised.
The meeting, chaired by the National Coordinator, Nacta, focused on the progress of the system’s master data, registration of stakeholders and integration of databases and digital platforms involved in the fertiliser supply chain.
The review covered virtually the entire chain, beginning with importers and manufacturers and extending to production sites, warehouses, transport fleets, dealers, sub-dealers and farmers. It also examined the proposed mechanism for recording dispatches and linking information generated by different government and private-sector systems.
The system is being developed around the principle that fertiliser movement should be digitally traceable across different stages of the supply chain. This requires not only registration of the businesses and individuals involved but also reliable exchange of transactional data between government departments, manufacturers and distributors.
