BAHAWALPUR: An 11-year-old Madrasa girl student was allegedly raped by a madrasa teacher in Chak 147 DB in the vicinity of the PS Sadar Yazman in District Bahawalpur.
Despite the passage of nine days, the accused could not be arrested. The heirs of the victim staged protest and demanded that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz take immediate notice of the incident.
According to the police spokesperson, the girl went to madrasa with other girls to study. The accused took the girl to fields and raped her. According to the heirs of the girl and the text of the FIR, when she did not return home from madrasa with other girls, the family went out to search for her. When they reached the spot, the girl was screaming. The accused had left her naked and fled.
Police have registered a case. The girl was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Yazman for medical treatment. According to the area police, the accused has obtained interim bail.
