A sessions court has issued notices to the District South SSP and the Darakhshan SHO on an application seeking the registration of an FIR over a brawl at a residential building in the DHA neighbourhood.
A woman submitted her application through her lawyer to the court seeking directives for the Darakhshan police to record her statement and lodge an FIR against the proposed accused, including the resident who had attacked her.
The additional sessions judge (South) issued notices to the South SSP and the Darakhshan SHO to submit their response to the application by Wednesday (today). The applicant claimed that the police had refused to register a case against the proposed accused on her complaint, and that an FIR had been filed against her despite the fact that they had assaulted her.
She said that despite approaching the police for the registration of a case, the police had not taken action against the alleged influential individuals. The applicant said that they have been facing serious security concerns following the alleged assault. The court was requested to direct the police to register a case against the proposed accused, and provide protection to the applicant and her family.
