LAHORE:Investigation police have arrested two members of a professional mobile snatching and pickpocketing gang with a previous criminal record and recovered expensive mobile phones, cash and illegal weapons from their possession.
The suspects used to deprive citizens of their valuables in streets, markets and on major roads. During interrogation, investigators also traced several snatching cases registered against the suspects at different police stations across the city.
Duo injured in firing incident
Two residents were injured when a dispute between two groups over children escalated into firing in Green Town. The alleged firing by associates of a man identified as Hasnain injured Mubashir Hassan and Zamurd Bibi during the altercation. Police said five suspects allegedly involved in the incident had been taken into custody while efforts were under way to arrest the remaining suspects.
Man arrested in assault case
Sundar police arrested a man within hours of receiving a complaint that he had allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old boy after threatening him. The suspect, identified as Ali Hassan, allegedly intimidated the child and subjected him to sexual assault in the Sundar area. The arrested suspect was handed over to the investigation wing.
