A man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Lyari on Friday. According to the police, the incident took place on Noor Elahi Road within the limits of the Kalakot police station. The victim, identified as Sabir Khan, 60, son of Sultan Khan, was taken to Civil Hospital Karachi, where he was pronounced dead. The police said Sabir was travelling as a pillion passenger on a motorcycle with his nephew when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him before fleeing the scene. The assailants fired more than four shots, three of which struck the victim.
According to initial police investigations, the shooting was suspected to have stemmed from a property dispute. The police were said to be also investigating the possible involvement of the victim’s younger brother, who was reportedly engaged in the property business.
