The body of a man with his hands and feet tied was found inside the Hub Pumping Station in Manghopir, police said on Wednesday.
According to police, Water Corporation officials informed Madadgar 15 after discovering the body inside the pumping station, which falls within the jurisdiction of Manghopir police station. Police identified the deceased through an identification device as 45-year-old Shahbaz, son of Allah Ditta.
Investigators said the body appeared to have been carried to the pumping station by flowing water. The victim’s hands and feet were tied, leading police to suspect that he had been killed at another location and that his body was subsequently dumped or swept into the pumping station.
Police also found a previous criminal record of the deceased. Two cases, including one related to a police encounter, had been registered against him in 2011. His residential address could not immediately be ascertained.
