The bodies of two men were found inside a car parked in the garage of an apartment building near Sea View in Clifton on Wednesday.
According to police, the bodies were recovered from a locked car at Nishan-e-Pakistan Sea View Apartments, within the jurisdiction of the Darakhshan police station. The police and rescue shifted the bodies to a hospital.
The District South police said the bodies appeared to be one to two days old. One of the deceased was identified as 34-year-old Asadullah, while the identity of the second man, believed to be between 22 and 23 years old, could not immediately be ascertained. The second victim was found without clothes.
The police said Asadullah was a resident of Gulshan-e-Sikandarabad in Keamari and worked as a mechanic and part-time driver. The apartment was owned by an elderly couple who had hired him as a part-time driver.
According to police, Asadullah had parked the car in the garage with the other man inside before the garage shutter was closed. The police suspected that the two men might have died after carbon monoxide accumulated inside the vehicle. However, they said post-mortem examinations were being conducted and the exact cause of death would be determined after the reports were received. Further investigation was under way.
