ISLAMABAD: The government has raised petrol and high-speed diesel prices by up to Rs6.47 per litre, with the new rates taking effect for August 18, according to a Petroleum Division notification issued Monday.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) increased the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs6.47 to Rs390.42 per litre from Rs383.95, while petrol was raised by Rs5.77 to Rs331.20 per litre from Rs325.43.
The latest increase comes just days after the previous revision, adding further pressure on consumers and businesses reliant on petroleum products. The adjustment is expected to increase transportation and operating costs, particularly for freight, agriculture and other diesel-intensive sectors, while the petrol increase will directly affect motorists.
