LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz on Sunday met members of the Provincial Assembly from Attock district and held detailed discussions on public needs and ongoing development projects.
The MPAs congratulated the chief minister on the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PMLN’s) success in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and appreciated her initiative to launch the electrobus service in Attock.
They informed the chief minister that electrobus service was operating between POF Sanjwal and Hazro and between Government College of Technology, Dhok Fateh, and Attock Khurd. They said the service had received a positive response from the residents of Attock and adjoining areas.
The MPAs said free travel for women, students and senior citizens on the modern bus service was a major public facility. They also described the upgradation of villages under the Model Village Project as a revolutionary initiative, saying Punjab’s development projects were setting an example for other provinces.
Maryam said the clean drinking water project was among the government’s key priorities, following the Suthra Punjab Programme. “After cleanliness, my resolve is to provide clean drinking water in all cities across Punjab,” she said. The chief minister said the PMLN had made Pakistan a nuclear power and built motorways, adding that the Punjab government had launched the Punjab Development Programme for every city and village. “Under the programme, mega projects for drainage, sewerage systems and roads have been initiated across the province,” she added.
Separately, Maryam Nawaz commended the security forces for their successful operation against terrorists in Kharan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3. She praised the forces for their timely action, in which seven terrorists were killed, and lauded their sacrifices and efforts to protect the country.
