PARACHINAR: Three people were injured in three successive landmine explosions in the Dandar Sahara area on the outskirts of Parachinar on Sunday.
According to police sources, three blasts occurred one after another in the Dandar Sahara area, leaving Hamid Hussain, Sajjad Ali and Yasir Hussain injured. The landmines had been planted along unpaved tracks in the area. One of the injured, Hamid Hussain, a poor shepherd, lost both legs in the explosions.
Deputy Commissioner Kurram Fahad Wazir visited the hospital following the blasts and expressed concern over the incident. Talking to the media, he said a demining team had arrived in Parachinar and would be sent to areas where reports of landmines had been received.
