LAHORE:Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) leaders have strongly criticised the provincial government for what they termed economic exploitation of employees and pensioners.
PTU President Rana Anwarul Haq and others on Sunday said that 1.5 million government employees and pensioners in Punjab were suffering under unfair policies and urged national leadership, including Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, to take notice.
Senior leaders Yaseen Warraich, Rana Liaqat and others added that employees were being forced into hardship as inflation rises daily, while Punjab workers remain deprived of the 45 percent disparity allowance. They condemned the abolition of leave encashment and cuts in pension and gratuity, calling these measures anti-employee and unjust.
The union’s top leadership stressed that Punjab employees should not be singled out for economic retaliation and demanded restoration of previous rules along with fair allowances. They warned that continued neglect of their demands will intensify frustration among government workers and pensioners across the province.
