LAHORE:After the case of recovery of a large consignment of government medicines of DHQ Hospital from a private warehouse in Gujranwala came to light, the Health Department took strict action against those responsible under the PEEDA Act.
According to the details, APWMO of Gujranwala Teaching Hospital Dr Shazia Afzal, Pharmacist Nighat Saeed, Storekeeper Asghar and Ward Cleaner Daud Noor were suspended. The suspended officials were directed to report to the Health Department immediately. A fact-finding committee has also been formed for further investigation. The committee will have the Director Monitoring Convener, Additional Secretary Technical, Deputy Secretary Technical and a representative of Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala as members. In the light of further investigation, similarly strict action will be taken against other responsible persons.
