LAHORE:Scattered rain with partly cloudy and humid weather was witnessed in the City here on Sunday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions during the next 24 hours. According to data from the Meteorological Department, maximum temperature in the city was 34°C while humidity was 41 per cent.
The average AQI of the city was 83, which came in moderate category while the PM2.5 concentration was 5.3 times the World Health Organisation annual PM2.5 guideline value. Data released by Wasa showed that highest rain of 23mm was recorded at Tajpura while in other areas it was Chowk Nakhuda 15, Pani Wala Talab 12.8, Laxmi Chowk 1.8, and Shadipura 1.6mm. On the instructions of Wasa MD Lahore Ghufran Ahmed, continuous monitoring of drainage operations was under way while field officers and staff were directed to remain alert.
Met officials predicted that moderate moist currents from Arabian Sea were penetrating in upper parts of country while a shallow trough of westerly wave was also affecting upper parts. They predicted that hot and humid weather was expected in most parts of the country.
