A 30-year-old man was shot dead in front of his father over a dispute involving repayment of money at a shop in Gulshan-e-Maymar’s Salfia Town on Sunday.
The incident took place near the A-25 bus stop in Salfia Town within the jurisdiction of the Gulshan-e-Maymar police station. The victim’s body was initially taken to the police station for legal formalities and later shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was identified as Daniyal, son of Idrees.
Gulshan-e-Maymar SHO Muhammad Ali Niazi said preliminary investigations suggested that the shooting took place at a grocery and kitchen goods shop. According to police, Daniyal was at the shop with his father when his friend, identified as Nafis, arrived in an Alto car. Nafis allegedly opened fire on Daniyal in front of his father and fled the scene.
Police said Daniyal had to recover some money from Nafis and the two had also quarrelled late Saturday night over the repayment dispute. Daniyal sustained two to three bullet wounds and died from his injuries. Police reached the scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
