The Keamari investigation police have arrested a woman and her husband in connection with the murder of a man and burning his body in the Mochko area.
According to police, the suspects were arrested during a major operation in Layyah district of Punjab in connection with the murder of Faizan, alias Faizi, whose body was set on fire after the killing.
Police said the victim, who was the suspects’ son-in-law, was murdered in April and his body was completely burnt. The remains were later identified as those of Faizan. A case had initially been registered against unidentified suspects at the Mochko police station, following which a special investigation team was formed to trace those responsible.
The investigation team, using technical means and modern investigative methods, had earlier arrested two suspects, identified as Akram, son of Noor Zaman, and Ataullah, son of Akram. Police said the main suspects, security agency official John Abbas and his wife Samreen, had fled and gone into hiding following the incident.
The Mochko investigation team traced and arrested the couple on the basis of technical evidence. The arrests were made in Layyah district under the supervision of Inspector Arshad Tanoli. Further investigations are under way.
