Islamabad : A high-level delegation from Ghana visited Riphah International University (RIU) to explore opportunities for academic collaboration, research partnerships and institutional linkages between Pakistan and Ghana, says a press release.
The visit focused on strengthening cooperation in higher education, healthcare education, faculty engagement, student opportunities and joint research initiatives.
The delegation, comprising senior representatives from Ghanaian higher education institutions, was welcomed by Riphah officials. During the visit, the guests met university leadership and explored Riphah’s academic programmes, research initiatives and healthcare facilities.
Discussions covered areas of mutual interest, including academic partnerships, faculty and student exchange, collaborative research and sharing of institutional expertise. Both sides expressed their commitment to developing sustainable avenues of cooperation benefiting students, faculty and researchers.
A highlight of the visit was an official dinner hosted by Riphah International University Chancellor Hassan Muhammad Khan in honour of the Ghanaian delegation. Senior academic and administrative officials attended the event, which provided an opportunity for further discussions in a cordial environment. University officials said international partnerships were essential for enhancing the quality and global reach of higher education, creating opportunities for innovation, knowledge exchange and joint academic ventures.
The delegation also toured various Riphah campuses and facilities, including academic departments and healthcare institutions. The guests were briefed on the university’s educational infrastructure, professional training programmes and research activities, particularly in medical, dental and allied health sciences.
The engagement is expected to pave the way for future cooperation in faculty and student exchange, collaborative research, capacity building and the development of academic programmes.
