ISLAMABAD: The Tehreek Tahaffuz Aiyeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) has announced full political support and complete solidarity for the Million March announced by the Pakistan Kissan Ittehad (PKI) from September 25 in Rawalpindi.
The TTAP said the PKI’s September 25 Million March is not just a protest by farmers but a battle for agricultural future and the Movement for the Preservation of the Constitution of Pakistan stands with the farmers in this battle. The movement announced that it will continue to provide political support, complete solidarity and all possible democratic cooperation to the demands of the Ittehad and their right to protest. The opposition alliance spokesman Akhunzada Hussain claimed that the wheat crisis, falling prices of agricultural commodities, skyrocketing fertilizer and electricity prices and increasing farmers’ debts are the result of the failed and anti-farmer agricultural policies of the federal and especially the Punjab government. He alleged that instead of providing relief to farmers, Maryam Nawaz’s Punjab government is busy with exhibition projects, political propaganda and protecting big feudal and capitalist interests.
