ISLAMABAD: Pakistan cut petrol prices by 94 paisa but raised diesel by 54 paisa per litre, with the new rates taking effect Thursday, according to a Petroleum Division notification.
The modest petrol relief is expected to benefit millions of private vehicle users, while the diesel increase could add pressure on transport, freight and other businesses that rely heavily on diesel.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) announced that petrol will drop from Rs325.92 to Rs324.98 per litre, while diesel moves in the opposite direction, rising to Rs 382.79 per liter from Rs382.25.
