PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday granted bail to Abdul Sadiq, a retired engineer accused of assaulting a woman lawyer at the Peshawar Judicial Complex.
A bench headed by Justice Naeem Anwar heard the bail petition and, after hearing arguments from both sides, approved the accused’s bail.During the hearing, the counsel for Abdul Sadiq told the court that his client had been accused of assaulting lawyer Madiha Parvez. He said the accused, an executive engineer by profession, was nearing retirement and had a longstanding dispute with the woman lawyer over a house.
The counsel claimed that the woman lawyer had allegedly used abusive language against his client at the time of the incident, prompting him to lose his temper and push her.
